Charles County Released Inmates is a private reference, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, free anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record directly.
Choose the Correct Office
Custody, release, supervision, and court documents are kept by different offices. Use the last known system and the type of answer needed. Phone numbers and addresses below come from current official sources, but staff may apply confidentiality, identity, and disclosure rules before discussing a person or releasing a record.
Charles County Detention Center
6905 Crain Highway
La Plata, MD 20646
301-932-3101 or 301-932-3100
Use for present-custody questions and facility direction. The detention page and CCSO directory publish different main numbers, so both are retained.

P.O. Box 189
La Plata, MD 20646
301-609-6404
Use the agency portal for an existing CCDC booking, release, or photo record. CCSO does not publish a fixed release-record price or turnaround.

Charles County Courts

200 Charles Street
La Plata, MD 20646
Circuit: 301-932-3201 or 301-870-2659
Criminal: 301-932-3220
District: 301-934-5110
Both court offices list weekday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except holidays. Ask the appropriate clerk for a release, bond, sentencing, commitment, or disposition document.
District Court Commissioner
11 Washington Avenue
La Plata, MD 20646
301-934-5080
The official directory indicates continuous service. A commissioner’s release decision does not by itself prove that CCDC completed physical discharge.
Use the route that matches the request:
- For a named release and the local record request process, start with the Charles County released inmate search.
- For community supervision, use Probation & Parole and the DPP contact above.
- For a same-day release check, follow Jail Releases: 24 Hours.
- For a possible future date, use Projected Release; for alerts, use the VINELink Inmate Search.
- For a particular custodial system, select the matching county, state, federal, or ICE facility page in the footer.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, contact DPSCS rather than CCSO because local detention records are not state DOC records.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE locator and not the county jail as the final source.
